Amplifying Voices & Stories of Women Over 40
MISSION:
The Out of Our Heads Arts Foundation (OOOH!AF) is a federally registered nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women over 40 in the arts. We amplify the voices of women through theatre productions, storytelling projects, creative writing workshops, visual arts programs, music, film, and community-based arts initiatives. Our foundation creates space for both emerging and established women artists, offering opportunities to share authentic stories, develop new skills, and bring overlooked perspectives to the stage and beyond.
At OOOH!AF, we believe in the transformative power of art to challenge stereotypes, break down barriers, and celebrate lived experience. By centering the voices of women over 40, we combat ageism and gender inequality in the arts while creating bold, intergenerational connections. Our programming highlights female-driven theatre, feminist storytelling, social justice art, and inclusive creative expression that reflects the diversity, resilience, and strength of women.
Through our work, we foster a vibrant community where women’s voices are visible, valued, and heard. Whether through a live production, a writing workshop, or a collaborative arts project, OOOH!AF is committed to building confidence, sparking dialogue, and empowering women through creativity. We are proud to contribute to both the Canadian arts landscape and the global movement for equity, representation, and artistic innovation led by women over 40.
